Realities For Children is not just a typical Nonprofit in Fort Collins; it represents an innovative and globally recognized design that has redefined fiscal efficiency in the human services sector. Our unique approach is a powerful hybrid of two entities working together to create a safety net for children who have faced abuse and neglect in Northern Colorado. This model connects the human services community directly to the business community, ensuring maximum impact for our most vulnerable residents.
The driving force behind this structure is the commitment to transparency and direct service funding. The organization operates with two distinct arms: Realities For Children, Inc. and Realities For Children Charities.
Underwriting the Mission
Realities For Children, Inc. is a nonprofit cause marketing organization. It consists of Business Members who pay a monthly membership fee, which provides them with marketing and the positive consumer appeal of supporting local children. Crucially, the fees collected from these business members underwrite all administrative costs and the implementation of services. This ingenious arrangement means these fees are a tax-deductible marketing expense for the businesses, rather than a charitable donation, ensuring they do not compete with the funding resources of Partner Agencies.
Dedication to Direct Support
The second entity is Realities For Children Charities, a 501c3 charitable organization. This is where all tax-deductible donations and fundraising returns are directed. Because the first entity covers all overhead, this is the cornerstone of our transparent funding model: 100% of all donations received are distributed to support the children served in Northern Colorado. The Charities arm underwrites all youth programs, Partner Youth Agency support, and emergency grants as requested.
This commitment to direct funding is why Realities For Children has been universally honored in the business, human services, and governmental sectors for its ability to unite in the fight against child abuse.
